Oversized Blazer
Inspired by the 80s the oversized boyfriend blazer helps create long lines, add shoulder pads and it can cinch your waist and elongates your legs, so it’s no surprise that its popularity has been on the rise since 2019.
The oversized blazer is simple to wear and style especially now with the plethora of colours and prints available, it is the perfect everyday piece. First introduced at Balenciaga by Demna Gvasalia the silhouette showed huge shoulders and elongated sleeves. This season though we are seeing softer fabrics and a more slimmed down version as brands take a much more consumer conscious approach.
The versatility of an oversized blazer is why we will see this trend continue to grow over the next few years. Worn with matching trousers to form a suit is the perfect modern workwear outfit, whilst matching with jeans and trainers can be a great smart-casual style. There is also a huge trend right now to wear your blazer with loungewear pieces like leggings and joggers, proving just how adaptable it can be.

Bright and bold colours were a huge part of most catwalks that featured blazers in SS21. Styled with straight leg trousers or leather shorts gives the ultimate modern style easy to dress up or down.

Leading into a more athleisure look, Versace included key prints and pops of colour showing how even the most sophisticated of styles can be used even once the working day is over.
